The APP is a nurse practitioner or certified physician assistant who will provide care for patients receiving immunotherapy and cellular therapies as well as standard admissions for chemotherapy or toxicities of treatment/underlying disease. The APP is responsible for the primary care of the patient as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team led by an attending physician. Responsibilities include obtain medical history, perform physical examinations, review and order diagnostic studies, radiographs and prescribe treatments.



Responsibilities

    Works as part on an interdisciplinary team on the inpatient wards at UWMC working 12 hour rotating shifts to cover 7 days per week.
  • Performs complex and problem-focused H & P's; rounds daily with team and attending physician.
  • Evaluates and manages all aspects of care for medical oncology and hematology inpatients.
  • Performs procedures (bone marrow, LP, etc.) according to licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice
  • Collaborates and consults with other disciplines and services
  • Communicates changes and transitions from inpatient to outpatient in a seamless fashion and communicates changes in patient's health status or urgent patient issues to the patient's primary oncology team.
  • Participates in patient rounds, conferences and committees
  • Actively participates in clinical aspects of research trials
  • Documents patient care data in accordance with the FHCC and UWP policies
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • One year experience as an ARNP or PA-C; Hematology, Oncology, or Inpatient experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong team player with a can-do attitude is a must! Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Washington state & DEA licensure required.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of start date.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $124,488.00 to $196,747.20 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
