Description

In our department, we help individuals with hearing and communication disorders. Our patients have problems that can lead to social isolation, unemployment and depression. Our goal is to help them with their challenges so that they may enjoy improved quality of life. We are looking for an individual who is dedicated to helping others. We care a great deal for those that work in our department. The individual holding this position will: facilitate patient access to Speech Pathology services by answering incoming patient calls at our Call Center, this individual will also be responsible for regularly surveilling the clinician appointments in order to expedite priority patients, will work with other departments to coordinate visits for patients receiving multidisciplinary care within the Health System, and use problem-solving skills to manage challenging situations. Customer service is heavily emphasized at the Call Center. When needed, this individual may be required to work in other department locations, including Audiology, Speech Pathology and Rehabilitation Clinics in Westwood and Santa Monica. May be asked to cover Saturday clinic.

Salary Range: 29.42-42.14 Hourly

Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate CICARE in all patient interactions, both in person and over the telephone.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal computer systems such as Care Connect.
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Individual must be adaptable to change.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish identified goals.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments when faced with heavy workload, deadlines, interruptions, and competing requests to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Interact diplomatically with a diverse population composed of staff, physicians, administrators, and outside personnel.
  • Recognize and deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential issues.
