Construction Services Associate Project Manager

S&ME is looking for a dedicated and driven Construction Services Associate Project Manager to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. As an Associate Project Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring project excellence by coordinating personnel, overseeing detailed planning, and fostering client relationships. You'll also actively participate in business development efforts and professional organizations to strengthen ties within the construction community.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • Streamline Operations: Coordinate scheduling for personnel and equipment to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Plan & Review: Evaluate work plans to ensure alignment with project goals while staying within defined scopes of work.
  • Manage Costs: Prepare and review cost estimates and proposals for accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
  • Field Coordination: Document field activities and test results using advanced digital tools like Metafield.
  • Community Engagement: Represent S&ME through direct client interactions and active participation in industry organizations such as AGC, ACEC, and ASCE.



What You Bring:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or advanced certifications (PE, PG, RLS, CWI, Master Special Inspector, etc.).
  • 0 - 3 years of experience in materials testing, special inspections, or geotechnical work, with at least 1 year in project management.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance, calibrations, and holding a state radiological license.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).



Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are prepared to meet the physical requirements of the role with the support of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, including:



  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs (e.g., field or laboratory samples and equipment).
  • Safely maneuvering field equipment, such as loaded wheelbarrows, on uneven terrain at active construction sites.
  • Traveling overnight as needed for out-of-town assignments.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required.
