Job Title:TSSSA - Materials Manager

Could you be the full-time onsite Materials Manager in New Castle, DE, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your analytical and strategic planning expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of our services. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as Sourcing, Procurement, and Maintenance Technicians), manage and optimize the material supply process, and much more.

We'll look to you for:




  • Managing the forecast and execution of the material supply process and interfacing with Alstom's Sourcing and Procurement Departments,



  • Ensuring material kits are issued to Amtrak Maintenance Technicians at point of use,



  • Managing the Material Management module of the MMIS,



  • Managing and controlling the availability of materials between the main warehouse and the three Maintenance Facilities,



  • Interfacing with Supplier Quality Assurance and managing warranty activities,



  • Ensuring stock verification and stock counting is being correctly carried out,



  • Identifying arising surplus/obsolescence stocks to Operations Manager,



  • Ensuring that repairable spares are controlled such that vehicle downtime is minimized,



  • Ensuring correct and safe storage of all consumables, spares, and materials throughout the Maintenance Facilities,



  • Initiating 'root cause' analysis for critical material shortages and implementing corrective actions

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field,



  • Experience or understanding of managing complex supply chains,



  • Knowledge of material management systems and processes,



  • Strong communication and client interfacing skills,



  • Ability to conduct 'root cause' analysis and implement corrective actions,



  • Familiarity with railway industry standards and practices,



  • Competence in managing supplier relationships and warranty activities,



  • Experience in inventory management and identifying surplus/obsolete stock
