Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your analytical and strategic planning expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of our services. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as Sourcing, Procurement, and Maintenance Technicians), manage and optimize the material supply process, and much more.

We'll look to you for:

  Managing the forecast and execution of the material supply process and interfacing with Alstom's Sourcing and Procurement Departments,

  
  
• 
  

  Ensuring material kits are issued to Amtrak Maintenance Technicians at point of use,

  
  
• 
  

  Managing the Material Management module of the MMIS,

  
  
• 
  

  Managing and controlling the availability of materials between the main warehouse and the three Maintenance Facilities,

  
  
• 
  

  Interfacing with Supplier Quality Assurance and managing warranty activities,

  
  
• 
  

  Ensuring stock verification and stock counting is being correctly carried out,

  
  
• 
  

  Identifying arising surplus/obsolescence stocks to Operations Manager,

  
  
• 
  

  Ensuring that repairable spares are controlled such that vehicle downtime is minimized,

  
  
• 
  

  Ensuring correct and safe storage of all consumables, spares, and materials throughout the Maintenance Facilities,

  
  
• 
  

  Initiating 'root cause' analysis for critical material shortages and implementing corrective actions

  Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field,

  Experience or understanding of managing complex supply chains,

  Knowledge of material management systems and processes,

  Strong communication and client interfacing skills,

  Ability to conduct 'root cause' analysis and implement corrective actions,

  
  
• 
  

  Familiarity with railway industry standards and practices,

  
  
• 
  

  Competence in managing supplier relationships and warranty activities,

  
  
• 
  

  Experience in inventory management and identifying surplus/obsolete stock
