We are looking for an exceptional Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist to join a team of professionals committed to doing their best every day to care for their patients and for each other. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Candidates joining us from a distance that is greater than 50 miles from their previous role and home are eligible for relocation assistance up to $9,200. JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs Radiologic (Vascular Interventional) procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers; in an ethical and professional manner according to hospital and departmental policy and according to any applicable New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of the Interventional Radiology Department operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Must be registered by ARRT Radiographer (R). Must obtain ARRT (VI) credentials within two years of completing orientation. In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered/credentialed. Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two months of completing the orientation period. Will be responsible for on-call in Vascular Interventional Radiology (IR) per union contract. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner. Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation. Requires an ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations. Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months). As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided. SCHEDULE: This position is scheduled from 8:30AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday. Participation in weekday (end of shift through 7am the next morning) and weekend (end of Friday shift through 7am Monday) call rotation is required. 45-minute response time. As a Level III trauma center and referral center for northern NY, CVPH coordinates closely with UVM Medical Center, a Level I trauma center located 1 hour away to provide our patients with comprehensive access to care. The UVM Health Network Department of Radiology provides integrated image management systems so that network physicians across northern NY and Vermont have access to images from any of our locations. Our imaging equipment and protocols are becoming standardized across all our sites, so that patients receive the same level of imaging quality no matter where their images are obtained. At CVPH, we are in the process of upgrading to state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including 128 and 256 slice CT scanners.
