Overview

Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.



Major Position Responsibilities

    Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
  • Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
  • Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
  • Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
  • Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
  • Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
  • Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.


Basic Qualifications

Required Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education &/or Experience

Preferred Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information. Research skills. Problem-solving skills. Machine Operation. Machine Programming, Manufacturing. Numerical Control. Precision Measurement. Quality Inspection. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Policies and Procedures. Record Keeping. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
