Description
POSITION SUMMARY
- Work closely with customers on pre-launch programs and facilitate the up-front design, development and feasibility reviews.
- Research new manufacturing processes and the feasibility of implementing them in Midway manufacturing facilities
- Manage advanced engineering department and direct the daily activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Give customer design direction to eliminate die and welding manufacturing issues through draw simulations, coordinated reviews at Midway Products Group, Inc. or utilizing personal knowledge.
- Capable of estimating a piece price through performing blank layouts and process assumptions.
- Perform cost analysis of multiple options for engineering direction.
- Attend meetings at customer site as required.
- Assist in the development of new sales.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Determine preliminary process, blank sizes and layouts, as required.
- Keep informed of competitors activities through review of information from the field or other sources.
- Develop project timing charts as needed.
- Inform Midway Products Group, Inc. management in the development of the program.
- Performs other essential, related duties when required or requested by management and/or reporting Supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Four year Technical Degree preferred with ten years minimum direct customer contact experience.
- Must have die processing, feasibility and costing knowledge.
- Ability to communicate with customer representing Midway Products Group, Inc. best interest.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Computer literate; basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to work at the customer site without supervision; sometimes involving demanding situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Travel to customers; may encounter hazards from wet, humid conditions.
- Working near mechanical parts; loud noises and inhaling fumes and dust.
