Job Summary

The UCSF Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic is a robust interdisciplinary clinical practice. Our practice is a multi-disciplinary integrated clinic that serves a broad range of patients of diverse backgrounds.

UCSF's Child and Adolescent Gender Center offers comprehensive medical and psychological care, as well as advocacy and legal support, to transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive kids. We bring together experts from within as well as outside UCSF to promote gender health and support positive outcomes for children and adolescents exploring gender identity and expression. With our program housed within the UCSF Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, we are able to offer the most advanced medical care.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $95.69 - $124.10 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

* Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program as Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner
* Minimum two (2) years of recent experience working in a pediatric setting as a Nurse Practitioner
* Experience working with transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth
* Excellent verbal and written communication, professional, computer, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse interprofessional team and patient population
* Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job duties/functions

Preferred Qualifications


  • Pediatric Endocrinology experience
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record
  • Bilingual in Spanish

License/Certification


  • California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
  • Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.
    • Accepted Certifications for this position: FNP-C, PPCNP-BC, FNP-BC,CPNP-A CPNP-PC. Link to UCSF NP Certification Table for reference: Acceptable NP Board Certifications Checklist 2.23.24.docx
  • Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
  • Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
  • Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
  • Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
  • Hold current AHA BLS as minimum requirement.
  • State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.
  • Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1.


UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
