Cambria County Children & Youth Services is seeking a capable and dedicated candidate to supervise and administer our program's fiscal operations. In this County Fiscal Officer 2 role, you will have the opportunity to become an essential part of an organization that strives to assure the safety and wellbeing of children in our community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of our office's fiscal and accounting professionals, assigning tasks based on staff ability, and ensuring that all fiscal and accounting tasks are completed within established timeframes. This includes reviewing work and making sure staff receive necessary training, especially for involvement with federal programs.

As Fiscal Officer, you will also prepare the agency's budgets by reviewing previous expenditures, analyzing program changes, and projecting estimated costs based on funding requirements, as well as assist the agency administrator in the preparation a needs-based plan and the development of fiscal reports. Your work will ensure that vital programs can continue to serve children and families in need of our support, while keeping our operations funded and in compliance with all reporting requirements. Our agency's professional staff will trust your guidance in the completion of mandated forms relating to financial matters.

Additionally, you will oversee all grants obtained by the agency, ensure regulations governing each are followed, and prepare all financial reports for submission to the state offices. Responsibilities also include assisting in the preparation for, and participating in, required audits. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Fiscal Officer 1; or
  • Two years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • Four years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
