Honors College

Job Summary

The Honors Program Coordinator develops and organizes student success programming for honors student populations. Serve as advisor to specific honors student groups. Coordinate communications to honors student populations including website, email, and social media. Serve as liaison with campus and/or community partners. Coordinate meetings, honors college events, or other special activities. Provide honors academic advising support in both individual and group settings to ensure student success. In addition, prepare and maintain honors student requirement documentation and records.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and evaluate designated honors student success program(s) on both the Armstrong and Statesboro campuses
  • May serve as advisor to honors student groups
  • May provide direct supervision to student support staff
  • Advise students on options to satisfy honors degree requirements, honors program changes, resolve issues, evaluate classes, and register students for classes
  • Provide guidance to students on fulfilling honors requirements
  • Educate students on nationally competitive scholarship/fellowship opportunities as well as scholarship/funding opportunities through the university
  • Educate students on resources available to aid in student success, both within the campus and larger community
  • Develop and maintain student files and records
  • Promote, advocate, and expand awareness and participation in designated program(s) and the college
  • Perform assigned financial responsibilities for the program(s)
  • Develop, review, and edit marketing and resource materials for the program(s)
  • Create and maintain processes for data collection, data entry, analyses, and creation of statistical reports
  • Provide information and deliver presentations to stakeholders and represent the college at university events
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate interactions/relationships with faculty, staff, and both on and off-campus community partners
  • Execute program related meetings, honors college events, or other special activities
  • Manage communications with honors student populations including website, email, and social media


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience
  • Two or more years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with honors or high-ability university students Academic advising experience
  • Background working with co-curricular and extra-curricular programs


Proposed Salary

$46,513 - $48,541

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

ABILITIES
  • Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Ability to manage website and utilize social media channels
  • Ability to comply with and enforce student privacy regulations such as FERPA

KNOWLEDGE
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
  • Demonstrate familiarity with college and university policies/procedures
  • Demonstrate general understanding of campus resources available to students
  • Demonstrate a general level of understanding of advisement theory and practices

  • Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relation skills
