Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist with
expertise in clinical and molecular epidemiology. We are looking for a smart,
theoretically informed, and technically minded person who enjoys working on cutting
edge interdisciplinary population health research projects. For this position, we seek
someone with a strong data-driven public health and epidemiology background and who
has training in quantitative analysis.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Comprehensive review of the literature on a research topic (10%)
  • Conducting quantitative data analysis (e.g., descriptive statistics, correlations,
    linear, logistic, and Cox regression) using statistical software such as R (50%)
  • Maintaining documentation of datasets and analyses (5%)
  • Preparing tables and figures and writing up results for academic publications /
    presentations (30%)
  • Other duties as assigned (5%)
Qualifications

Required:

  • Doctoral Degree in epidemiology biostatistics or related field. Coursework in
    statistics, data analysis, research methods.
  • Experience with multivariable regression models, and time to event data and
    analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with analytical software, in particular R.
  • Experience with literature review techniques.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Preferred:

  • Experience in data analysis of omics data.
  • Experience with large data, including tasks such as data management, analyzing
    genetic and omics data, etc.
  • Experience with EndNote.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work on multiple tasks
    concurrently.
  • Experience using High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems.

Epidemiology and Community Health:

The Division of Epidemiology & Community Health focuses on disease and health in various populations. Our faculty and students examine the distribution, cause and prevention of diseases, and how human behavior affects overall health.

The division offers MPH, MS and PhD degrees, as well as dual and joint degrees.

Research:
The work of epidemiologists spreads across sectors and areas of study, so our division and faculty are often partnering with other research entities and community organizations on public health research and interventions. We are committed to protecting research participants, upholding ethical standards, and improving our practice at every step of our work. Research priorities or pods which encourage collaboration and innovation among our faculty and build upon the division's robust research history include the fields of Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Global health Infectious Disease, Maternal and Child Health, Healthy Weight, Social Epidemiology, Substance Abuse and Grocery Assistance Program Study for Families.

To improve the health of the public through state-of-the art teaching, translation of research into practice, and training of the next generation of public health professionals.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $60,000 annually
