Carnegie Mellon University's department ofAthletics is searching for aFull-Time Assistant Volleyball Coach. Carnegie Mellon has a world-renowned reputation with core values that reflect its commitment to hiring and retaining individuals with a diversity of talents, perspectives and experiences. A national research university, Carnegie Mellon is a member of the NCAA Division III and University Athletic Association. This is a Full-Time, 10-month coaching position to be held during the academic year.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Assist with skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under direction of the head coach

  • Assist head coach with planning, implementation, and supervision of training and practices

  • Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic, and athletic progress of student athletes

  • Exhibit supportive and cooperation behavior pursuing sport programs goals as set by head coach

  • Demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student athletes

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of athletic coaching experience required

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Requirements:

  • Successful background check

  • Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)

  • Motor Vehicle Records

CMU will notsponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.Carnegie Mellon is not a qualifying employer for the STEM OPT benefit: only the 12-month OPT may be used to work at Carnegie Mellon.

  • Travel Requirements: You should be able to travel both domestically and internationally and be willing to work outside normal business hours as needed.
