Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle HC Anl 1 will assist with developing workflows in the Cash Management Unit for productivity and analyze revenue data reports. This position will require auditing batches of payments and working with the Credit Analyst to reconcile Credits and Undistributed payments. Also, the individual will provide operational support to meet monthly deadlines.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $60,300 - $90,400 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Clinical Practice Group (CPG) Business Services provides the University with an internal and centralized physicians' professional fee billing operation at San Francisco General Hospital. This includes all 20 SFGH departments and one-off site clinic. The Cash Management Unit is primarily responsible for the maintenance, control, payment posting, refunds, and/or final disposition of incoming payments. The unit is responsible for analyzing and resolving credit balances. The unit also assists in tracing payments, tracking and reconciling deposits. It is the unit's responsibility to communicate with the CPG staff and various SFGH departments to resolve issues involving the account receivable of the professional fee services.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Knowledge of contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, and cash management
  • Knowledge and exposure to Accounts Receivable Revenue Cycle
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn to evaluate workflows and systems
  • Knowledgeable on Cash Audit and Controls
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting
  • Knowledge and exposure with interpreting Insurance and Medi-cal Explanation of Benefits
  • Knowledgeable in Epic Payment Posting System

Preferred Qualifications


  • Detail oriented, with organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments consistently on schedule
  • General knowledge of Accounting controls and standard Cashier policies
  • Basic communications skills, with the ability to interpret and present clinical financial information clearly and concisely
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment with internal staff in a wide variety of business and clinical areas
