Promotes breastfeeding and assists with facilitating change within the clinical settings using evidence-based care management. Contacts physician offices, patients and other departments as needed to facilitate patient care in the department. Orders breastfeeding/pump supplies for the unit and restocks supplies as needed. Accurately enters information and consults into the hospital Electronic Medical Record system. Able to assist nursing staff with duties involving indirect patient care. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
2. Current BLS (AHA or ARC) Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) (AHA or ARC) Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
5. Current NRP (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
6. Basic/Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate fetal monitoring within 6 months upon hire and maintain current.
7. Minimum 5 years' experience as a perinatal nurse in an acute care setting.
8. Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
9. National Breastfeeding Certification required
