The Team Coordinator will also assume temporary responsibilities and oversight of SLR laboratory, Central Testing and Processing. 2. Coordinate Quality Improvement through training, staff management and supervision for SNVMC and SLR. 3. Assist the laboratory manager with projects, leadership meeting and the overall daily operations and management of both sites. 4. Maintain oversight on direct reports in training, daily activities, performance, disciplinary actions and quality improvements. 5. Manage, assign and utilize available resources accordingly between the laboratories. 6. Report discrepancies in a timely manner and facilitate resolutions. 7. Manage conflict resolutions with clients as well as staff members. -Must have a strong understanding of business operations and demonstrates business acumen. Job Summary 1. Assumes responsibility, and accountability, and provides leadership for daily operations of Central Testing, Processing, SLR laboratory.2. Coordination of work, quality service, and team member supervision in assigned areas (SLR and SNVMC laboratories). 3. Facilitates staff management, in a multi skilled, multi-functional environment. 4. Coordinates quality improvement activities, and resolution of customer service issues and management and monitoring of resource utilization. 5. Evaluate staff performance and when required, completes disciplinary action. 6. Participates in the work activities of assigned teams through providing assistance, serving as content expert and participating in the work as a member of the team. 7. Contributes to the success of the lab through effective work coordination, management of resources, assists in preparation of operational and capital budgets, and participation in goal accomplishment. 8. Supports lab employees with IT solutions for everyday operational needs. 9. Manages multiple projects including hardware/software, training and operations with competing priorities. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution. Education, experience and ASCP/AMT certification must be acquired within the specific discipline of the department in which one is applying. Certification is not required for PHD candidates. Requires ability to travel between Sentara entities.
