DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Social Worker 1, you will provide a range of professional social work services, support, and interventions for residents of the facility. You will interact with residents, residents' representatives, and clients to coordinate needed social services. As a member of an interdisciplinary care team you will complete psychosocial assessments, provide direct social work practice, counsel residents and their family members, and prepare residents for discharge. This position requires excellent relationship-building skills and a steady composure to maintain positive and constructive working relationships with care teams, while responding to the needs and sensitivities of residents. In addition, you will participate in staff training programs, follow established procedures, and recommend quality improvement practice adjustments that enhance resident care. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in social work or social welfare.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
