DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Library Assistant, you will create and maintain a clean and safe environment that promotes reading and learning for the inmates. Your duties will include assisting the librarian in the training, scheduling, hiring, and termination of inmate library personnel. You can expect to oversee inmate work crews, complete attendance and progress reports, and respond to inquiries from the inmate population and institutional staff pertaining to library resources and programs. In this position, you will assist with the circulation and inventory of library materials and deliver materials to housing units. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday - Wednesday, and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
