Could you be the full-time onsite Fleet Planning Manager in Washington D.C. (Ivy City), US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive scheduling and project management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dedicated, professional, and collaborative teammates. You'll ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction in your role as Fleet Planning Manager. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Maintenance, Operations, Materials Management), coordinate with Amtrak for efficient fleet planning and maintenance scheduling, and much more.

We'll look to you for:




  • Coordinating any changes to the Maintenance scheduling based on Help Desk feedback of the Train performance each day,



  • Managing the long-term planning of the Fleet in conjunction with Amtrak to deliver the required fleet availability,



  • Scheduling maintenance exams at Depot in accordance with requirements to maintain a consistently high fleet availability to meet contractual requirements,



  • Managing the reporting of Fleet and Maintenance performance,



  • Reacting to train failures and infrastructure related issues in conjunction with the Operator to minimize impact on the Production plan,



  • Liaising with the Alstom Fleet Control on all planning matters to ensure that any special/urgent requirements have been considered and agree the long-term plan,



  • Agreeing to the daily Maintenance Plan with the Amtrak planner and allocating trains to the specific Maintenance Facilities for that day,



  • Agreeing to the weekly look forward Maintenance scheduling with the Amtrak planner and coordinating with Materials Manager for preparation of materials kits supply.

  • Experience or understanding of fleet planning in a maintenance environment,



  • Familiarity with rail vehicle maintenance requirements,



  • Knowledge of quality and safety systems,



  • Degree in Scheduling or Project Management,



  • A general knowledge of rail vehicle maintenance requirements,



  • Experience of working in a Service Site or Production environment,



  • Good communication, report writing, and organisational skills.

Base Salary range:$120,000 - $140,000
