Responsibilities

    Researches Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards and collaborates with teachers on lesson plans, modifications to meet Individual Education Plan, and appropriate activities to support the lesson plans
  • Ensures Individual Education Plan, Admission Review and Decision (ARD) and lesson plans are in accordance with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and Texas Education Agency regulations
  • Supports management and teachers in academics needs as indicated
  • Compiles and tabulates incident reports and other data. Distributes the data reports to teachers and/or other identified parties
  • Assists teachers in providing information to school districts and other programs regarding (Emergency Behavior Intervention) as needed
  • Maintains all academic reports in compliance with regulations
  • Orders and maintains supplies for the classrooms
  • Coordinates and disseminates information for new students
  • Acts as liaison with student, families, and other involved agencies as directed
  • Adheres to and participates in Company's mandatory Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices
  • Abides by and demonstrates the company's Mission, Vision, and Values through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or General Education Diploma required; minimum of Associates Degree preferred
  • Working knowledgeable with State of Texas Education Protocols and Regulations
  • General knowledge of Individual Education Plans and adapted lesson plans
  • Prior work or volunteer experience in a program providing services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental and/or other neurological disorders or Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Minimum of two years' experience in an administrative role preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs
  • Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Job Information

The Texas Hill Country School specializes in working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries, Developmental Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders, and a host of other developmental, neurological and psychological problems. We enroll both residential and day students from ages 6-22. Individuals past the age of 22 are evaluated for placement on a case by case basis depending on their developmental level.
