In this role, you will monitor all quality activities on a project and ensure compliance with the Quality Implementation Plan (QIP). You will participate in design phase activities and document reviews. You should understand design documents and performs precons, first work in place, and periodic inspections to ensure compliance with the design documents. Promotes the use of materials, finishes, and details with excellent long-term quality performance.

Job Responsibilities:

    Initiates QIP on every assigned project
  • During the design phase:
    • Conducts design quality kick-off meeting
    • Ensures that design reviews are completed and signed off at 30 and 100%
    • Begins listing quality risks and developing mitigation plans
    • Personally reviews final documents on all assigned projects
    • Ensures that geotechnical, concrete, and envelope reviews are held on all assigned projects. Performs geotechnical report review. Advises Project Director, Project Manager, and A/E Design Principals on critical related information
  • During the construction phase:
    • Conducts construction quality kick-off meeting
    • Participation in the selection and evaluation of independent testing laboratories to support the project construction phase. Develops budgets, administers contracts, as well as monitors scheduled activities, such as reports, field activities, tests, and inspections on all agencies contracted. Distributes test results to appropriate design and QA team members
    • Finalizes the remaining quality risks with well-developed mitigation plans
    • In conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent ensures all precons required by the QIP are conducted
    • Ensures that all first work in place inspections are scheduled and conducted. Also monitors the progress of all required corrective measures
    • Ensures in cooperation with Design Principal, Project Manager, and Superintendent that all site observations are conducted. Performs all assigned QA inspections, prepares reports, documents deficiencies, and monitors the progress of deficiency correction
  • During the closeout phase:
    • Ensures in cooperation with the Project Manager and Superintendent that Haskell completion conference and subcontractor completion conferences are conducted and documented
    • Monitors that AE punch lists are created and completed
    • Performs final QA punch list, documents findings, and verifies/documents completion of those deficiencies
    • Conducts in conjunction with the Project Director, Project Principal, and Project Manager a lessons learned meeting Prepares lessons learned document and distributes to project team and Director of Quality
    • Produces reports which are concise, thorough, logically structured, and well written for each QIP activity for which they are responsible. Distributes reports in a timely manner
    • Communicates to QA Manager or Director of Quality potential inconsistencies, deficiencies, errors, omissions, and conditions that may expose the company to liability expenses. Prepares monthly summary of all assigned QIP's, notes trends, and participates in Monthly delivery group QIP meetings
    • Participates in QIP audits with the QA Manager and/or Director of Quality as requested
    • Attends a minimum of 8 hours of professional development (in or out of house) to improve your knowledge base
    • Performs Quality training as requested on specific subject matter. (Minimum of 1 per year)

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • 2+ years of construction quality/inspection/testing experience
  • Ability to read and effectively interpret building construction documentation and associated reports
  • Ability to conduct effective preconstruction conferences to define quality standards and inspection procedures. Ability to inspect construction progress at scheduled intervals.
  • Ability to interface with client's quality assurance personnel and provides direction to ensure compliance with testing, inspection procedures, and results to on-site Quality Assurance inspectors
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills to effectively work with others
  • Good organizational skills to handle/prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel to project sites. Travel will be greater than 50% of this individual's time
  • Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service, and Trust

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000. This range is specific to Aurora, CO and the actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
