Position Summary:

Air Products Membrane Solutions, a division of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), is seeking a Product Designer to drive innovation and deliver competitive membrane products to the marketplace. Air Products Membrane Solutions is a global leader in membrane-based gas separation technologies, and we are committed to significant growth in sales revenue through new product development. The Product Designer will play a key role in developing new membrane products from concept to commercialization. This position involves transforming ideas into detailed CAD models and drawings while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development and production.

Responsibilities include:

• Design innovative pressure containment vessels by applying a strong understanding of mechanical principles, including flow direction and pressure differentials.

• Develop solid models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Solidworks to take designs from concept to full documentation.

• Maintain and manage Solidworks PDM to ensure the accuracy and organization of design files.

• Design casting molds compatible with existing manufacturing infrastructure and coordinate with plant engineering for seamless implementation.

• Conduct mechanical tests in laboratory environments, including setup, execution, and documentation of results.

• Organize and maintain mechanical test labs, ensuring equipment and tools are operational.

• Write test plans and allocate manufacturing resources to produce prototypes.

• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align designs with production capabilities, cost targets, and lead times.

• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in product or equipment design utilizing Solidworks.

• Solidworks certifications are a plus.

• Experience in Product Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) preferred.

• Strong understanding of machining and fabrication processes, including their advantages and limitations.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across cultures and organizational levels.

• Ability to travel domestically as required.
