Our major funders today are the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), among others.   

We are currently recruiting for a Manager, Information Technology (IT) that will be based in our Washington, DC office and will report to the Vice President, Operations.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES 

The Manager, IT manages technology solutions for our global organization. IESC uses Microsoft products as well as Taleo and Deltek Costpoint as our primary IT and information systems. The Manager, IT will ensure all users have sufficient knowledge of IESC’s IT applications through tools, trainings and user-friendly materials to efficiently perform their daily business tasks. This role is not designed to be a help desk role. IESC has an outsourced managed services provider (MSP) that provides help desk functions and other support. The Manager, IT will provide overall organizational IT management, primarily support the US-based office and staff, as well as provide IT management guidance and support for IESC’s global program offices. Individuals who have been in a similar role for an international development organization, in a business analyst position on IT projects or who have worked for an IT consulting firm may be ideal for this role. 

The Manager, IT will: 

  • Provide support for information systems including workflow development, data cleaning, licensing assignments, security groups assignments, configuration, reporting, and compliance.
  • Review and approve security and access requests.
  • Design/Facilitate and deliver training sessions, workshops, discussion groups, and other learning events primarily focused on IESC information systems.
  • Manage the outside managed service provider as well as other IT vendors. As needed, work with managed services provider to improve local area network hardware and services.
  • Review reports and technology improvement plans provided by the managed service provider.
  • Perform status calls with managed service provider.
  • Review and refine requests for new/improved features for custom applications by developing scopes of work.
  • Manage the implementation of new/improved features through consultants or internal resources.
  • Work with third-party vendors and other consultants to resolve technical difficulties with either out-of-the-box features or custom applications.
  • Prepare an annual department workplan and budget.
  • Maintain IESC IT policies and procedures for the home and field offices.
  • Develop and update technical standards that lead to efficient and effective use of information systems.
  • Assist the new business efforts with budgets and cost analysis as required.
  • Conduct home office and field office procurement in compliance with client and internal policies.
  • Assess the use artificial intelligence for the organization and provide guidance and recommendations.
  • On an as needed basis, provide guidance to programs using technology as part of their technical assistance to beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate the development of needs assessments and the procurement process for new IT systems, or software, as needed.
  • Other related tasks or duties as required. 

 QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of responsible experience in information technology applications training and support.
  • Experience with Microsoft licenses and products.
  • Working experience building, managing and troubleshooting SharePoint and SharePoint workflows.
  • Ability to develop and provide IT relevant trainings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing is preferred.
  • Experience with international non-profits preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with a multi-national and multicultural team, worldwide.
  • Experience working with a broad group of stakeholders within different levels of an organization.
  • Complete fluency in both written and spoken English. 

The salary range for this position is $104,000 to $125,000. IESC has developed a salary range based on market survey data. New employee salaries are typically established within this range based on qualifications, internal equity and the amount budgeted for this role.
