Job Summary

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience in Desktop Support for a hybrid remote work model. The ideal candidate will provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop systems ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Oversee the installation configuration and maintenance of desktop systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement and maintain IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and data protection standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of desktop support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on desktop systems and software.
  • Participate in the evaluation and testing of new desktop technologies.
  • Support remote users by providing timely and effective technical assistance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement and support.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of desktop support processes.

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in desktop support.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exhibit proficiency in installing configuring and maintaining desktop systems.
  • Show ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid remote work model.
  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have experience with remote desktop support tools and technologies.
  • Understand and comply with security protocols and data protection standards.
  • Be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
  • Show willingness to stay updated with new desktop technologies and trends.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide training and support to end-users.
  • Have experience in coordinating with vendors for hardware and software procurement.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Show commitment to continuous improvement of desktop support processes.

Certifications Required

  • CompTIA A+ Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $45,000 - $55,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

  • Exhibit strong communication skills both written and verbal to effectively interact with end-users and team members.
  • Show proficiency in managing user accounts and permissions ensuring secure access to systems.
  • Have experience in deploying and configuring hardware and software ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Display a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and technologies.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
