Job Summary

Under the direction of the Patient Care Manager and GI Endoscopy Tech Supervisor, will participate as an integral member of the Endoscopy patient care team. Performs multiple support functions directed toward positive patient care outcomes and assists physicians with endoscopy procedures. All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high-quality patient care and customer service are constantly provided.

Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines, and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $39.50 - $49.24 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • One year Endoscopy experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job description
  • Willingness to be taught/learn new skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to organize work duties and comply with infection control guidelines; assist MD with endoscopy procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to change assignments depending on patient priority
  • Ability to operate complex equipment, automated reprocessors, electrocautery devices, etc
  • Basic computer skills
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications


  • One year Endoscopy reprocessing experience

License/Certification


  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
