Summary:


This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, administering, and supervising the site's Quality Assurance program. The role involves enhancing customer relations through the planning and direction of activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. The goal is to ensure that all products manufactured meet customer specifications, and that quality assurance procedures and policies are coordinated throughout the organization.

Education and Experience:



  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Math, or a related technical field, or the equivalent in practical experience and specialized training.


  • Ten (10) years of overall experience in manufacturing, with direct experiences in inspection and quality assurance, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.





Primary Functions:



  • Complete Detailed PPAP's, FAIR's, and other inspections.


  • Track and facilitate MRB activity, corrective actions, and return goods. Work with other departments, customers, and suppliers to find root causes and corrections.


  • Analyze and resolve quality issues. Work in 6-Sigma teams.


  • Complete other functions as assigned.


  • Ensure all work is completed within the framework of the AS9100 Quality System.





Specific Functions:



  • PPAP FAI's require advanced GD&T skills.


  • Work with Engineering to develop inspection plans, CMM programs, Vision system programs, and routers for final production use.


  • Plan yearly AS9100 Internal Audit schedule, lead other internal auditors, and complete the schedule.


  • Direct and coordinate the overall quality specifications, standards, inspection, and testing procedures for raw materials, processes, and finished products.


  • Review quality control plans or process control procedures to ensure production of finished products that meet quality specifications and standards.


  • Direct AS9100 activities and associated programs flowed down from the Aerospace Business unit.


  • Direct customer-specific audits and coordinate any on-site customer source inspection.





Leadership Responsibilities:



  • Use quality knowledge and experience to develop Quality Techs.


  • Work professionally with other departments at all employee levels.


  • Formulate department objectives, direct staff activities to meet Aerospace Business Unit objectives, and ensure that all department personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively.





Other Competencies Required:



  • Good verbal and written communication skills.


  • Good interpersonal skills.


  • Good understanding of GD&T.


  • Ability to relate and interact effectively with various levels of the organization and customers.


  • Some travel required (approx. 10%).
