Job Summary

Involves the supervision or management of Educational Programs in medical imaging. Involves teaching the use of imaging to diagnose and treat diseases seen within the body. Includes a variety of imaging techniques such as X-ray radiography, bone density, ultrasound, MRI, mammography, neuro interventional radiology, interventional radiology (special procedures), nuclear medicine, and computed tomography (CT).
Primary focus of this program will be X Ray (General Radiology)

The Radiology Technology Educational Program Director is responsible for the leadership, administration, and management of the radiology technology program. This role includes overseeing curriculum development, ensuring program compliance with accrediting bodies, managing faculty and staff, and supporting student success. This will also involve the development and oversight of internal cross -training programs to ensure Technologists at UCSF can enhance patient care activities and their own personal career goals within our program. The director will work collaboratively with institutional leadership, faculty, and external stakeholders to maintain high educational standards and adapt to evolving industry needs.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $218,050 - $265,844 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Radiology Department is a specialty medical service that offers a wide range of imaging techniques to diagnose and treat a broad range of medical conditions. The Diagnostic Section utilizes ionizing radiation through the use x-rays, radiography, and fluoroscopy. At UCSF Medical Center, we offer the full spectrum of techniques, using the most advanced equipment. Combined with Bone Densitometry, Mammography, CT scans, MRI, PET, Ultrasound and Interventional we perform more than 550,000 procedures annually. In fact, several radiology advancements and applications were developed here.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Radiologic Technology, Education, or a related field
• 5 years' of experience in the field of radiology.
• 5 years' previous educational experience
• Strong knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Clinical practice knowledge and applied background in a radiologyRadiology Educational Program. Knowledge of terms, concepts, and protocols. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in an acute care and outpatient setting
• Knowledge of medical center, HR and UC policies and processes. Knowledge of relevant external regulations.
• Leadership skills in student/learner supervision and administration to effectively lead and motivate others. Conflict resolution skills to resolve personnel issues and counsel assigned staff to develop cooperative working relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a complex, challenging environment. Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility, anticipates and effectively handles change.
• Ability to organize division operations in an efficient and effective manner through improving Radiology processes, protocols, databases, and technology.
• Interpersonal skills to collaborate within and across divisons and departments.
• Proven analytical abilities and problem solving skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify options for resolution. Demonstrates sound judgement.
• Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate through all mediums and with all groups. Demonstrated abilities to listen actively, persuade, advise, and counsel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Education

License/Certification

• Current ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology.
• Current CRT Certification
• Current CA Fluoroscopy Licensure
• BCLS or equivalent
