Job Description The Accounting Manager will be a key operational leader in the CMS Business Unit, instrumental in supporting the Business Unit Senior Manager in managing the financial operations of CMS and preparing key information for Chromalloy business planning and forecasts. With integrity as the highest priority, the position will maintain a focus on margin improvement, process improvement, Business Unit profitability, capital optimization and growth. The Accounting Manager will be partnering with the different functions to analyze performance of the engines in WIP and the different programs in addition to preparing and leading reviews of business cases to ensure CMS is meeting/exceeding the sales and profit target. This position will lead the accounting team for ~ $215M business focused on engine overhaul/management of $82M, program management of $63M, and PMA/Part sales of $70M. Working with the Finance Senior Manager and partnering with the business leaders, the goal is to double revenue and grow profitability in each of the revenue streams over the next 3 years. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day operations of the Quantum MRO and Logistics Software system.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including the loading of HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) and transmission to corporate by required due dates.
- Manage and ensure accounting practices and procedures (i.e. general ledger, intercompany accounting, financial reporting) are within the framework of GAAP. That includes AR, AP, I/C, Inventory, etc.
- Provide accounting guidance to the other functions regarding inventory (Lot accounting)
- Ensure and maintain internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations / Chromalloy policies and procedures.
- Manage internal and external auditors during periodic financial audits.
- Ensure account reconciliations are documented, reviewed and completed within specified time frames.
- Provide financial analysis and support for weekly and monthly forecasts and annual business plans.
- Analyze key performance indicators to identify underlying business issues and provide input for operational decisions. Represent the accounting team in meetings regarding engine overhaul cost analysis, program profitability analysis, and engine teardown analysis.
- Lead special projects central to improving analytical tools, internal business processes, and overall management decision processes.
- Participate in developing monthly operations review, benchmarking studies, and various management presentations.
- Make recommendations regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities across the organization.
- Manage and supervise, hire, terminate, promote, train and develop and conduct performance appraisals of team members.
Qualifications:
- BA / BS degree in Finance or Accounting.
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive experience including at least 2 years in a manufacturing, preferably aerospace or similar environment.
- Extensive experience with complex inventory and control systems.
- 2+ year previous management / supervisory experience building and developing talent.
- Extensive computer experience including MS Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products, database, etc., Quantum and/or EPICOR experience a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements.
