  • Primary responsibilities are coordinating the planning and execution of motion-controlled Aerospace systems projects.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to provide coordination across a multi-function engineering team, project planning and scheduling, budget definition, and performance tracking and oversight.

  • The Parker Aerospace Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing, ending with delivery to customers.
  • Parker Aerospace is a worldwide leader in multiple Commercial and Military Aerospace product lines, including Fire and Smoke Detection and Extinguishing systems, Bleed Air Overheat detection systems, Actuators, Rudder Pedal Assemblies, Pumps, Fuel Gauging Systems, High-Temperature cables, and more.
  • Parker Aerospace - Simi Valley, CA, is also a key supplier in selecting energy markets, including nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with the largest global aerospace companies, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and many others.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The Division IT Manager for Parker Fire, Safety, and Power Systems Division will be responsible for managing, developing, and implementing division-wide information systems and services; Develop division IT strategic and tactical plans in accordance with management expectations and needs, incorporate enterprise systems solutions, and aligning with Corporate IT directions and goals. This position does have direct reports.
  • IT Manager: Responsible for IT planning, maintenance, policy & process compliance; training; customer interface; department & people management
  • Hardware Management: Responsible for the justification, configuration, distribution, and maintenance of all hardware related to information technology systems utilizing the corporate standards and long-term supplier relationships; Typically includes personal computers, printers, servers, LANs, audiovisual equipment; manages customer interface through a help desk.
  • Software Management: Responsible for partnering with business leaders to assess opportunities, works with Corporate Enterprise Systems teams to source the appropriate technology from Parker's IT Portfolio and implement the technology to support the business; Typically includes financial, order management, material management, inventory control, manufacturing, engineering, collaboration, and people management systems. In coordination with the Enterprise Systems teams, evaluates, sources, and implements complementary technologies where appropriate.
  • IT Planning: Develops annual IT plans, including financial, distribution, manufacturing, and engineering applications, resource support, and IT infrastructure.
  • IT System Maintenance: Directs the implementation and maintenance of systems and services providing essential business functions; Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of these systems or services against the guidelines required to meet user requirements.
  • IT Policy & Process Compliance: Oversees division adherence to Corporate IT standards, directions, and goals.
  • Reviews and maintains the compliance of systems to established standards in order to assure future flexibility and maintainability; Implements and maintains practices and policies for standard operation and performance of the division.
  • IT Customer Interface: Provide active support and consulting services to all functional areas regarding software selection, database, and software application training; Communicates project status and service performance via the Lean IT Team Board.
  • IT Department & People Management: Prepares division IT budget plan, forecast, and subsequent implementation
  • Recruits, trains, and develops staff to deploy these services as required.

REQUIRED Qualifications

  • 4-year Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) is required; the ideal candidate has studied Information Systems.
  • The ideal candidate is working towards or has completed a Master's or MBA degree in Business Administration or Information Systems.
  • The ideal candidate has 10 or more years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 6 or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Previous work experience ideally includes experience in Hardware & Software Management and Business & Systems experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper opportunities.
  • Must have a functional understanding of business processes found in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Target Budget Compensation Range: $165K- $200K plus 20.0% ACIP target (Annual Bonus)
