Summary:
We are currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist II/III to join our client's Biotherapeutics Discovery department located at their Ridgefield, CT facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in the discovery of biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs. As an integral member of the New Biologic Expression, Purification, and Characterization (NBEPC) group, specifically within the Purification team, your main responsibility will be to provide expertise and knowledge in the area of protein purification, specifically focusing on purification of monoclonal antibodies and antibody formats. The focus will be to supporting our high-throughput team providing material and meaning full data to multiple project teams. Experience with purification chromatography, liquid handling technology and statistical data evaluation is highly advantageous. Experience with Biotherapeutics and a good understanding of drug discovery is considered a plus.
Skills or Requirements:
Scientist II Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with two-plus (2+) years of experience in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline or
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline
Scientist III Requirements:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline, OR
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline Ability to act while a supervisor is in his/her absence
Requirements for both levels:
- Provide and apply expertise in protein purification techniques.
- Demonstrate additional scientific knowledge of projects and understand technology beyond protein purification.
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge in the field of biology and biochemistry (SDS-PAGE, Western blot analysis, HPLC, protein characterization, aggregation, glycosylation, generic protein analysis).
- Ability to multi-task and organize multiple experiments simultaneously.
- Ability to work in team-oriented environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing in a local and international inter-disciplinary environment.
- Must be highly motivated and an independent performer.
- Experience with liquid handlers/Hamilton devices.
- Experience and knowledge with antibody and multi-specific molecules preferred.
