ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides administrative support to the Director of Culinary Services, and provides assistance to the Culinary Services management team with routine daily assignments, and projects. Acts as the Process Manager for catering events, private parties, to include planning, set up and execution.



  • Provide support and professional assistance to the Director and Assistant Director of Culinary and Culinary department to ensure Southminster is meeting/improving the standards of excellence, and upholding the Mission Statement. This includes special offsite events as well.
  • Ensures efficacy of Contracted Service Agreements.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of the catering menu.
  • Answers phone and emails and ensures all messages are handled and routed appropriately.
  • Participates as requested by Director of Culinary in Community Committee meetings, Strategic Plans, Programs.
  • Coordinates, plans and executes special events and parties. Responsible for BEOs, their distribution and communication.
  • Coordinates and manages the accounting administrative function for catering and private events. This includes billing, assisting with resident billing/meal plan concerns, POS reports, and ensuring cash drops are accurate.
  • Organizes and maintains the catering storage areas and catering carts.
  • Acts as a backup to dining management as needed.
  • Other duties as needed and as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Culinary.


Qualifications

Education required:

Associates Degree required. Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience required:

Must possess extensive administration experience in dining and catering.

Must exhibit proficiency in leadership and management. Must possess a working knowledge regulatory (state and federal) guideline.

Professional license or certification requirements:



  • Serve safe certified
  • Heimlich Maneuver

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills; utilize sound judgement, initiative, and resourcefulness in all areas of practice.
  • Must have the ability and the desire to work with a variety of people under varying conditions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Must have a strong command of MS Office and ability to learn POS configuration.
  • Must be flexible to perform several different functions in the same day.
