About the Job

The Advanced Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (ARDL) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst and Dataset Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with Drs. Thyagarajan and Prizment within ARDL to support their research efforts in epidemiology and genetics studies. As a Data Manager and Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the management of large population-based datasets, data cleaning, storage, harmonization of data variables, and the dissemination of datasets. Other responsibilities will include supporting the research team with materials for publication and presentation.

Responsibilities:
Data Analysis (70% effort)
* Collaborate with principal investigators to understand their data needs and objectives.
* Perform data analysis and generate reports as needed.
* Stay current with data analysis tools and techniques, particularly in R, Python, and SAS.
* Helping prepare materials for presentations and publications, including data visualization, statistical analysis results, and data summaries.
* Assisting in the creation of visually engaging and informative charts, graphs, and slides.
* Collaborating with research teams to ensure the accuracy and clarity of presentation materials.
* Supporting the development of manuscripts for publication by contributing to data analysis and interpretation.

Data Management (30% effort)
* Manage, clean, and store large population-based datasets.
* Harmonize data variables and ensure data quality and integrity.
* Create data documentation and metadata, including standard operating procedures for data management and analysis to ensure consistency and repeatability.
* Disseminate datasets to relevant stakeholders, researchers, and institutions.
* Manage regulatory issues related to obtaining, maintaining and disseminating datasets.

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Engineering, Epidemiology, Statistics, Biostatistics) or a combination of relevant work experience and education to equal at least four years
* Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly R and Python.
*Knowledge of data cleaning and quality assurance best practices.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized.

Preferred Qualifications:
* At least 3 years' experience working with large, complex datasets.
* Proficiency with large -omics data analysis is preferred.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $59,000 - $66,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
