Job Purpose and Overview

The Vice President of Enterprise Applications will lead the strategy, development, and management of enterprise applications, with a primary focus on the SAP ecosystem. This role is responsible for implementing, integrating, and optimizing applications to support business operations, enhance efficiency, and drive digital transformation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale enterprise application projects, with expertise in SAP S/4 HANA and a strong understanding of SAP technologies and best practices.

This role includes designing and executing the organization's ERP strategy, leading implementation efforts, and improving ERP solutions to ensure data integrity, operational efficiency, and business results. The VP will work closely with cross-functional teams to align applications with business needs, manage vendor relationships, and oversee support teams to maintain a secure and responsive application portfolio.

As a member of the IT Leadership Team, this role is critical in aligning technology solutions with company goals, leading digital transformation, and staying ahead of ERP trends like cloud technology, platform-as-a-service, and AI. The VP will also focus on cost management, initiative prioritization, and delivering measurable value.

This position is essential to advancing operational efficiency, supporting strategic goals, and maintaining a competitive edge through innovative technology solutions.

Work Environment: This is a remote position requiring residency in the Eastern or Central time zones, with up to 25% travel. Candidates located near Jackson, MI, are highly preferred for ease of occasional on-site collaboration.

What will you do as a Vice President of Enterprise Applications at Dawn Foods?



  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for enterprise applications, with a primary focus on SAP enterprise solutions.
  • Lead the implementation and integration of SAP applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of existing enterprise applications, including ERP, CRM, SCM, HCM, FI and other related systems.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging SAP technologies to improve business processes and drive innovation.
  • Manage a team of SAP professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project delivery and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with SAP vendors and partners to stay informed about new developments and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security requirements for all SAP applications.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of SAP applications, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SAP applications and related processes.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for enterprise applications that supports our organization's business goals and objectives. In collaboration with the software engineering team, carry out buy-build-customize analyses and develop plans to operationalize the results. Own, maintain and promote awareness of the application strategic roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, while overseeing ongoing implementation of multiple, overlapping large application initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performance team of IT professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, excellence and ongoing improvement.
  • Develop productive relationships with business leaders across our organization to influence how applications can enable new sources of value. Conduct regular surveys of stakeholders' satisfaction with applications, publish the results and, where necessary, implement action plans to improve satisfaction.
  • Oversee the management of our enterprise applications portfolio, ensuring it meets current and future business requirements. Evaluate and prioritize objects based on strategic alignment, return on investment and risk. Perform ongoing buy-build-customization analyses for current and future components of the portfolio. Identify opportunities for system modernization, integration, automation and rationalization.
  • Safeguard the reliability, availability and performance of our enterprise applications. Implement best practices for application life cycle management, including development, deployment, maintenance and support. Manage master data across applications.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and partners. Develop a nuanced understanding of strategic vendors' roadmaps and how these will support the company's business objectives. Collaborate with IT sourcing and vendor management teams to strengthen the company's position when negotiating with software and service vendors.
  • Work with our internal governance team to ensure enterprise applications comply with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards. Oversee risk management processes to identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with applications and database systems.
  • Develop and manage the budget for enterprise applications, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness.



What Does It Take to be a Vice President of Enterprise Applications at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT, with at least five years in a leadership role managing enterprise applications.
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives and implementing large-scale IT projects with a focus on SAP implementation and integration projects.
  • Extensive experience with ERP, CRM, HCM and other business-critical applications, with a strong focus on SAP applications and preferred experience with Salesforce.
  • Deep understanding of SAP modules, including ERP, CRM, SCM, and other related systems.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex technical and business challenges.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to SAP applications.
  • Ability to stay current with new developments and trends in SAP technologies and the broader enterprise applications landscape.



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:



  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and other next-generation SAP solutions.
  • End-to-end deployment experience in a global enterprise ERP solution, preferably SAP S/4HANA
  • Knowledge of cloud-based SAP solutions and integration with other cloud platforms.
  • Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives using SAP technologies.
  • Certification in SAP technologies or related fields is a plus
  • Experience leading a broad enterprise applications portfolio strategy.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise application platforms, cloud computing and immersion technologies.
  • Ability to use strategic planning to translate business goals into technology solutions. SAP experience is critical to Dawn's operations and future applications strategy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with other executives, stakeholders and teams across the organization, and to influence people to achieve common goals.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with agile methodologies and change management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Understanding of financial principles and ability to manage budgets and optimize costs.

Compensation

$159,090 - $286,370 with bonus incentive potential
