Hi, I'm John, looking for a Summer 2025 Application Engineering Intern. Who Am I? I am passionate about the medical market and enjoy driving the team to improve customer's knowledge and experience with our products as well as identifying new areas that Carpenter can bring value to our customers. What Do We Do? Business Unit: Commercial - Medical Market We analyze Carpenter's external medical market and understand market needs and customer behaviors. We leverage this external insight to align Carpenter products and services as well as identify future potential products and services to fulfill unmet market needs. Ongoing Projects Provide application engineering support guiding relevant information about our products (machinability, usability, properties, etc), develop insight into our customer's products and understanding the role that specialty materials play, explore potential new areas for specialty material solutions Your Role as an Intern You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting the following tasks: Intern will be involved with open application engineering needs for our medical markets. Included in this are customer support information on Carpenter medical products and market investigations for new potential areas of growth. What Do We Require? You must be:
Pay Range Hourly rates are based on: 1 - Program of study; 2 - Degree type (i.e., Bachelor's); 3 - Progression in degree (i.e., 1st year, 2nd year, etc.). The range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour. Commuting/Housing Assistance (If Eligible) Interns who must commute to work from outside the immediate Philadelphia, PA area (over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $2,400 (less applicable taxes) as excessive commute allowance. Interns who choose to temporarily relocate from outside the immediate Philadelphia, PA area (moving over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $4,800 (less applicable taxes) as a housing allowance. If applicable, this payment would be made during the first payroll cycle, which would be three or four weeks following the internship start date.
