Job Title: IT Director - Distribution and Logistics Technology

Reporting to the Executive Director - DRiV Applications, the IT Director - Distribution and Logistics Technology is a highly visible and key leadership role whose primary mission is to define and implement business enabling Distribution and Logistics IT strategies, solutions, and services for the Global After Market. The successful candidate will be an expert in distribution and logistics technology systems, working seamlessly with both business and IT stakeholders across regions and with external technology partners in formulating our strategy to achieve standardization, harmonization, and simplification of IT solutions, and with the clear KPI's to improve business value. The role will work with team members across the business and IT, ranging from senior leaders to staff in operations / logistics and distribution. They will ensure the delivery of a portfolio of distribution and logistics IT projects and services, maximizing service levels while reducing costs by leveraging enterprise solutions. Priority for the role will be identifying ways to leverage process and technology to drive incremental business value within the Global After Market business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Supply Chain Distribution and Logistics leaders and operations teams to drive transformative and continuous improvement initiatives across the function.
- Work with distribution and logistics leaders to break down complex problems into actionable steps to drive strategy, innovation and develop the global strategic vision.
- Align Information Technology's priorities and activities with distribution and logistics strategies and related systems and information requirements.
- Modernize, enhance, and evaluate legacy processes and make changes where appropriate.
- Develop roadmaps containing sequencing of distribution and logistics IT solutions working towards the achievement of the business strategies. (1-3-5 years)
- Facilitate understanding and support the buy-in of the Functional Roadmap to key stakeholders in the function regionally and globally.
- Contribute as instrumental leader within the IT functions cultivating functional excellence and continuous improvement.
- Work with the business function/geography and IT Corporate functions to develop project business cases and value realization processes.
- Manage through Regional IT Business Partners, Program Managers, Project Managers, analysts, and programmers, in the development and installation of information systems for distribution and logistics.
- Ensure good project governance and execution, with monthly reporting ensuring justification of deviations and providing feedback to functional stakeholders.
- Identify standardization of processes and support solutions that drive business value.
- Understand current market and changing technology trends.
- Deliver technology that enables Distribution and Logistics to achieve maturity model advancement.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Supply Chain Management is required. Master's Degree is a plus.
Experience:
- 10+ years of related experience in a large or midsize multinational manufacturing and distribution company.
- Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
- Broad and deep knowledge in Supply Chain business processes and technologies with a focus in distribution and warehouse management.
- Familiarity with SAP ECC/ERP with emphasis on Manhattan Warehouse Management Systems as well as other Distribution and Logistics execution and analytic tools.
- Experience with SAP EWM and SAP WM a plus.
- Experience with systems implementation in both on-prem and cloud-based scenarios.
- Experience performing system development and support in an outsourced IT environment.
- Understanding of the Aftermarket business model with knowledge of the Original Equipment business model a plus.
- Strong teamwork and people skills with the ability to communicate with all management levels.
- Strong ability to collaborate, influence and build consensus and operate in a global team environment managing personnel in multiple countries and time zones.
Travel: Requires travel up to 20%.
