Location:Hartselle, AL Plug Plant

Shift: Day Shift

Wage: $32.63

Job Summary:
The shift leader position will be responsible for supervising approximately 20-30 employees on their assigned shift. This person will be required to know all aspects of the plug making process including quality standards and regulations. The individual in this role must have excellent communication skills as well as organizational skills. They must also possess basic math and problem-solving skills. Computer literacy is required. Knowledge of ISO requirements pertaining to quality management systems is essential.

Job Summary:

Job Responsibilities:
1) Ensure that all equipment and processes meet or exceed established safety standards.
2) Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the plant to include keeping floors free of trash/debris and returning tools to designated areas.
3) Properly train new employees and assist them in becoming productive members of the team.
4) Communicate regularly with Team Leaders and Plant Manager regarding concerns or issues within the department.
5) Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
6) Enforce all company policies and procedures.
7) Be able to recognize when it may be necessary to take corrective action for non-compliance with company policies and procedures.
8) Have knowledge of all products made on assigned line(s).
9) Participate in scheduled team meetings and contributes to the discussion.
10) Practice continuous improvement techniques such as 5S, SMED, 5 Why's etc.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred. High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Ability to read, write and speak English. Strong organizational skills, basic math and problem-solving skills required. Good communication skills and computer literacy (Microsoft Office) are required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights of up to 20 feet from the floor, work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat, and bend over for intervals at a time.
