Location:Iraq Job Summary: The Human Resources Employee Relations Specialist addresses workplace issues, resolves conflicts, ensures compliance with labor laws and company policies, and promotes a fair and respectful work environment. The Employee Relations Specialist often serves as mediators between employees and management, providing guidance and support to both parties to enhance communication, boost morale, and improve overall workplace dynamics. The Employee Relations Specialist will support and uphold the Company's stated vision, mission, and values. Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints. Conducts initial interviews and gathers information regarding employee relations matters, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns. Informs the appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is necessary. Conducts and documents investigations, seeks legal counsel when necessary, and provides recommendations to the management team. Provides policy information and conflict resolution options to employees, department leads, supervisors, and managers. Provides advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy, and employment laws. Develops and evaluates overall employee relations trends/themes across the organization and system to understand and address root causes. Monitors corrective action guideline adherence for disciplinary actions to ensure consistency. Establishes service level expectations, including expected case closure productivity and days to close goals. May conduct exit interviews and analyze trends. Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion, particularly regarding as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiatives. Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, labor relations, and human resources. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is preferred but not required 3+ years of HR experience in an Employee Relations or similar role Comprehensive understanding of the laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to human resources and contract negotiations. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to interpret and administer company policies. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must possess a high degree of ethics and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information related to investigations and day-to-day duties. Strong human relations skills (written, verbal, client service) Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, or related software. Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of clients from various a variety of backgrounds and with varying demands. Such situations may include telephone interaction, interviews, liaison, and representations, preparing reports and correspondences. Possess superior client-service skills, composure and cultural sensitivity when interacting with clients of various cultures.
Preferred Qualifications:
PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Government contracting experience is highly preferred. Prior HR leadership/supervision experience is a plus. Experience in international and/or austere environment
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs. Good eye and hand coordination is required. Constant use of sight, speech, hearing, frequent keying and use of computer and common office equipment required. The work location is in an extremely hot, austere, and potentially hostile environment.
