The Role
You will join a team of employees in their daily tasks of creating exceptional cannabis products for our patients while completing and fulfilling the tasks of the Sanitation Technician. This role will ensure a clean facility, and the highest standards of compliance are met, while keeping a keen eye for cleanliness and efficiency of the production area and supporting a world class work environment and culture. Our main goal is safety for all our employees and as a solution-oriented professional, you will ensure the entire team is working under the best conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of facilities, including floors, walls, equipment, and workstations.
- Use appropriate cleaning solutions and tools to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Dispose of waste, debris, and recyclable materials properly.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment and tools according to company protocols.
- Inspect cleaning equipment for functionality and report any maintenance needs.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and maintain proper labeling and storage.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Maintain cleaning logs and records of sanitation activities.
- Report issues or deviations from sanitation protocols to Lead and/or Manager.
- Work closely with production, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure minimal disruption during cleaning.
- Participate in safety and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or required, such as during equipment shutdowns or facility audits.
- Operate specialized cleaning machinery, such as floor scrubbers or other equipment as needed.
- Address spills, contamination, or other sanitation emergencies promptly and effectively.
- All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; associates degree or certifications preferred
- A minimum of two years' experience working in a manufacturing or agricultural environment
- Intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications
- Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work well with others while also completing individually assigned tasks
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and lift equipment or plants up to 50 lbs. for extended periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment
- Must be able to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
- Should have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations or a passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by the DOH to receive an Agent badge
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 40 pounds (80 pounds with assistance)
