About the role

As a Sr. Packaging Engineer your expertise in product development, quality control, and operational efficiency will pave the way for groundbreaking consumer goods. Your responsibilities

  • Direct ability to modify existing packages with peers; taking pack designs from bench, pilot plant and commercial scale based on customer or consumer needs.
  • Lead example in packaging material specification creation, providing technical insight necessary to support the product/packaging configurations; ensure projects deliver at efficient cost, line performance, package quality, supply chain requirements, and consumer satisfaction.
  • Create components/items within the Reckitt enterprise system and the Reckitt technical document system for packaging documentation. Lead component harmonization efforts to improve operational and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in project meetings, support project timeline development, deliver against assigned tasks, manage appropriate project communications across the business.
  • Assist/conduct root cause analysis and apply trouble shooting techniques to solve technical issues and performance challenges.
  • Conduct lab analysis, production line trials and supplier testing as needed on related projects. Generate and analyze collected data to drive technical and business recommendations.
  • Identify and support technologies that drive breakthroughs into new packages, cost savings and/or core renovation initiatives within the packaging organization.
  • Represent the packaging organization and partner with internal/external business functions to commercialize packaging solutions.
  • Research equipment and technical solutions for the package engineering organization improvement

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Package Engineering, or Packaging Science required.
  • 4+ years of relevant and experience with progressive responsibilities and project execution in the consumer products, OTC, Nutraceutical, or food packaging industry
  • Familiar with US good manufacturing regulatory requirements in relation to Packaging.
  • Knowledge of packaging (or related) technical procedures commonly used in a laboratory setting.
  • Technical and theoretical packaging materials and process knowledge (paperboard/corrugate converting, resin blow molding, injection molding, thermoforming, film and sheet conversion)
  • Strong knowledge in packaging equipment systems including qualifications and validation practices.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, analyze results and recommend changes/improvements.
  • Ability to organize and present technical and project management overviews.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects concurrently and still meeting critical project milestones.
  • Demonstrated efficiency with MS Office, TOPS, ERP systems (SAP) with Solid Works exposure as a plus.

Salary Range

USD$102,000.00- $152,000.00

Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
