JOB SUMMARY
To provide journeyman level skills in performance of electrical work.

This is a Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm position.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    High School Diploma High school graduation or GED equivalent or
    Vocational school


  • Experience
    4 years skilled or journeyman level experience as an Electrician


  • Licenses and Certifications
    (ELEC) ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN Must have current licensure as a Journeyman Electrician issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Upon Hire


JOB DUTIES



  • Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances, using handtools and testing instruments, to supply electrical power for lighting and operation of equipment and apparatus.
  • Inspects and tests electrical circuits and equipment; isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other equipment, replacing defective wiring, switches, sockets, plugs, and insulators.
  • Installs new wiring and electrical apparatus, using blueprints and diagrams to determine correct location and layout; runs wire through conduit, and makes connections to complete circuits.
  • Assembles, installs, and connects components of switchboards and distribution panels, and connects to units controlled.
  • Assists in estimating time and materials required for job.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains all lighting circuits on campus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
