Overview
The Agency of Transportation Aviation Program is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Technician to support and augment capability of statewide airport maintenance operations. The Technician will conduct statewide maintenance at any and all of the 10 airports statewide that are owned and managed by AOT. The candidate for this position can expect statewide travel on a regular basis to support varying aviation program maintenance needs. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Work is performed both in a facility and primarily in the field. Duties require exposure to extreme outdoor weather. An incumbent must be available for considerable overtime during heavy snowfall or other emergencies. Employees may be required to report to work outside of their work schedule and must be reachable by phone. An employee must be able to use tools and lift materials commonly used in routine maintenance work. Normal dangers associated with work on or near heavy equipment, hazardous materials, and responding to accidents, emergencies and natural disasters are present. May be exposed to blood and airborne pathogens. Participation in a random drug and alcohol-testing program is required. Travel throughout the state to various airports may be required. Stress may be involved in negotiating and obtaining compliance with contracts, tenants, and users. Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years or more of transportation maintenance or construction experience including experience operating a snowplow AND experience in aviation or airport maintenance. Special Requirements
Complete Vermont State Aeronautics Training program within the first 6 months of employment. An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation. Total Compensation
