The Field Category Manager-Albertsons role is a full-time remote position based in Boise, Idaho, the headquarters of Albertsons. This role reports to the Director of Field Category Management and supports the day-to-day category activities for the Albertsons Sales Team. The role is primarily responsible for developing data driven, objective selling stories that deliver sales and margin goals within our categories for both Ferrero and the retailer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales Director and assigned broker and internal partners to develop data driven, objective category recommendations that meet or exceed Ferrero key performance indicators ("KPIs") and deliver Category growth for the retailer.
  • Provide strategic and tactical recommendations to retailer and Sales Director on distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing ("DSMPs").
  • Build relationships within retailer to become or strengthen strategic and trusted partner status.
  • Monitor and analyze category, competition and consumer market data to proactively identify business opportunities and develop actionable category insights.
  • Participate in and develop content for retailer annual line reviews and joint business planning sessions to enhance category growth within the Confections, Spreads and Cookie Categories.
  • Leverage all syndicated data resources, shopper insights platforms and research in support of the sales initiatives that ensure linkage with the category management plan.
  • Be the subject matter expert on key data tools (E.G. assortment, IRI, retailer loyalty data, etc.).
  • Drive support for new product innovation launches through commercial planning process.

  • Interact with cross-functional team members from different departments and levels of the organization, gaining exposure, awareness of other functions, and experience collaborating.
  • Lead key projects and demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit as you help address category management opportunities. Be responsible for launching and developing important resources that will be leveraged across the organization.
  • Participate in Ferrero and Category Management specific trainings to sharpen your skills and prepare for advancement opportunities within the Category Management team.
  • Formal and informal mentorships with stakeholders for Sales, Trade Marketing, Brand, and Consumer and Shopper Understanding. Provides for multiple career mapping opportunities.

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/marketing discipline required, MBA a plus.
  • 7+ years relevant experience required, CPG and/or Grocery Channel experience preferred.
  • Category management skill set required, Category Space Planning experience a plus.
  • Proactive mindset to develop category strategies and translate them into DSMP KPIs.
  • Data analysis and ability to monitor key account performance and develop strategies.
  • Interpersonal skills as to interface effectively with necessary internal and external stakeholders, ability to build solid relationships and achieve brand sales goals.
  • Candidates should possess strong collaborative capabilities, high integrity and ethics, and operate daily with the company's values in mind.
  • Global mindset: desire to build a successful career with a growing global company.
  • Excellent written, oral, time-management and presentation skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint necessary; data modeling a plus.
  • 25% travel for HQ and customer facing meetings.
