JOB SUMMARY
This position will focus on application support for software and medical devices used by the Department of Radiation Oncology. This hire will work closely with our vendors and various UTSW teams to support software implementation, system integration, testing and daily operation of critical EMR systems in the clinic. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Selected candidate must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or related field.


  • Experience
    3 years progressively responsible business systems and/or Information Technology project experience, with exposure to systems or project development and testing, installation, and training.
    Applicants without the stated degree, but with significant additional Information Technology systems and project experience, may be considered.


JOB DUTIES



  • Assists the team with development and implementation of standard operating procedures for new and existing applications.
  • Coordinates and executes the testing, documentation, and implementation of new and existing features, functions, and applications.
  • Work with vendors as appropriate to ensure smooth operation of reporting and resolution of issues.
  • Provides applications, support and training to end users.
  • Manages projects as primary customer contact.
  • Defines and maintains project plan and schedules.
  • Monitors compliance with definitions of project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provides regular project status reports to customer and internal management.
  • Assists junior staff to coordinate projects.
  • Collect, interpret and document specifications required to develop new and revise existing software applications.
  • Develops and implements operational plans for new and existing business computer applications.
  • Participate in development of project proposals for customers.
  • Coordinates testing of new applications and changes to existing applications to ensure integrity and quality of data while providing and/or assisting in training system users.
  • Defines and develops test scenarios.
  • Documents and tracks status of application errors and related issues in problem log.
  • Assist programmers and junior staff in analyzing and resolving problems.
  • Monitors development of specifications and establish priorities for accomplishing design and testing of various projects.
  • Reviews, develops, recommends, and implements activities, programs or functions as assigned.
  • Provides project status reports.
  • May supervise junior staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Collects and interprets specifications required to develop new, and revise existing, software applications.
  • Assists managers with development and implementation of operational plans for new and existing business applications, including preparation of user specifications.
  • Coordinates testing of new applications and changes to existing applications to ensure integrity and quality of data while providing and/or assisting in training of system users.
  • Compiles complete, concise, and comprehensive policies and operation procedures to assist in communicating Information Resources issues to applicable management staff.
  • Assists in development of new administrative procedures required, utilizing new functionality resulting from system changes.
  • Assists in developing and implementing business Information Resources strategies to improve operational processing and productivity.
  • Responsible for monitoring development of specifications and establishing priorities for accomplishing design and testing of various projects.
  • Reviews, develops, recommends, and implements activities related to assigned activity, program, or function.
  • Maintains and tracks accounts assigned to projects or programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
