HDR is looking for Summer 2025 Highway and Roads Intern candidates to join our team in Walnut Creek, CA and Sacramento, CA. As a Highway and Roads Intern at HDR, you will work with a team of licensed engineers, engineers in training, and with diverse professionals. Our goal will be to engage you in all facets of our work so that you will gain a better understanding of how your coursework is applied in real-world settings and inspire you to engage in a career in transportation engineering upon graduation. In the role of Highway and Roads Intern, we'll count on you to: Offer real-world experience on exciting projects Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA with a degree in Civil Engineering and transportation concentration or focus Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry such as Civil3D and InRoads Internship is in-office only. Local candidates preferred Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program Attention to detail Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills Basic Microsoft Office skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position is $22.00 to $26.00 an hour and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
