Job Overview

The Science & Health Department at UC Clermont College seeks applications forannual adjunct faculty position in thePhysical Therapist Assisting Program. The Program is an in-person program on the UC Clermont Campus in Batavia, Ohio.

The position will begin Summer Semester as an adjunct with the annual adjunct position starting August 15, 2025. We are recruiting applicants who are interested in the position to co-teach Lifespan Seminar in the Summer semester as well as teaching responsibilities for neuro rehabilitation lecture and laboratory courses in the Physical Therapist Assistant program for Fall and Spring semesters. Faculty must adhere to the stated course objectives, content, and delivery as part of the approved program curriculum.

Essential Functions

Annual Adjunct faculty responsibilities include the following:




  • Teaching 18-21 contact hours within the three semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer), including lectures and labs.
  • Providing weekly opportunity for open lab and/or review sessions.
  • Participate in PTA weekly faculty meetings.
  • Current licensure, and licensure eligible in Ohio, as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Work with core faculty to establish academic regulations and to design, implement and evaluate the curriculum
  • Maintain contemporary expertise that represents knowledge and skill reflective of current practice
  • Demonstrates effectiveness in teaching and student evaluation





Position Description: Selected candidates should expect to focus on teaching Physical Therapist Assistant courses, but could be asked to teach other courses included in the Science and Health Department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with a Bachelor's degree or higher in a health care related field or a Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy. Educational credentials must be from accredited institutions.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice.
  • Previous clinical or teaching experience with at least two years of experience as a clinical instructor.
  • Evidence of contemporary practice and continued professional development.
  • The candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high academic standards while encouraging and supporting students with diverse backgrounds, interests, and aptitudes.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Has advanced certification in neurologic physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association for example, NCS, advanced proficiency pathway, stroke rehab, etc.
  • Clinical expertise is in rehabilitation of patients with neurological diagnoses
  • Have taught at a college level for PT or PTA Program
  • Familiarity with use of computer-based instruction, distance learning, learning technologies, and competency-based instruction
