Summer 2025 Internship Snapshot

  • The Internship program is a full-time (40 hours) paid opportunity running from May 21 - August 13, 2025

The Opportunity at Hand

The role of the New Era History Archive Intern is an integral member of the Archive adding value through assisting with researching, cataloging and helping with Museum project story telling.

Projects & Tasks

  • Learn about New Era's vast history, and the cataloging and storing items and stories related to our business. Along with our place in sport and culture
  • Participate in gathering, researching and documenting key elements in our over 104 year history
  • Assist with the Archive organization and curation of new exhibits
  • Collaborate with other departments on projects that are product and marketing related
  • Serve as a project coordinator for specific Archive category collections
  • Support Archive Sr Manager with projects and research as well as building tours when needed
  • Coordinate new exhibit for the next Lower Mez Museum space for 2025
  • Support new opportunities for collection of electronic or digital archiving
  • Research everything from new stories to new ways of collecting and cataloging
  • Organize specific category in our Archive
  • Draft new exhibit proposal for 2025 Museum Exhibit
  • Edit Sr Managers copy/stories for verification and grammar
  • Maintain Archive spaces
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other projects as assigned

What you will need to make an impact

  • Strong computer skills required including Widen, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize current New Era Archive documentation process/SOP
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email and in person
  • Strong public speaking, group presentation, interpersonal and persuasion skills required for internship as well as building tours
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances by being flexible and execute accordingly
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive person who manages change with urgency and persistence

Education and Experience

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program within Library science, History and Archival or a related field.
  • Creative writing skills a plus

This role is 100% in-person and requires on-site attendance five days a week at our Headquarters building located in downtown Buffalo. The hourly rate for this posted position is $17/hr. and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
