Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) or related field or equivalent experience.
- At least seven (7) years of experience in an electronic manufacturing environment, with experience in new product introduction.
- Good communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and training to less experienced employees.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand simple to complex assembly procedures, drawings and schematics.
- Ability to recognize acceptable and defective assemblies from procedures and drawings.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good soldering skills.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Working Conditions: Encountered on a regular basis as part of the work this job performs.
- Manufacturing floor with some exposure to toxic fumes and chemicals and some risk of electric shock
- Use of standard office equipment such as computer, keyboard, telephone, fax machine and copier.
- Use of soldering iron, oscilloscope, de-soldering iron, small hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel to assemble product.
- Clear vision at 20 inches or less, ability to identify and distinguish colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to assemble small parts under a magnifying lamp.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally to move product and equipment.

Responsibilities
Summary The Technical Specialist Sr. is responsible for the efficient testing, troubleshooting and repair of Company products and related sub-assemblies, with mastery of one or more product lines or areas or areas of responsibility. Interfaces regularly with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Technical Support to receive work assignments and provide product information. Supports new product introduction. Reviews data collection and reports for accuracy. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and repairs, to the component level, products and sub-assemblies that do not pass test processes. Provides second-level troubleshooting support and failure analysis when necessary.
- Designs test fixtures for manufacturing.
- Resolves complex manufacturing issues quickly to support fast pace manufacturing environment.
- Completes all paperwork accurately relating to jobs performed, including, but not limited to, work order forms, Material Reject Reports, product travelers, Inspection Reports, stockroom requisitions and forms, and system data entry.
- The Technical Specialist Sr. is the Subject Matter Expert for technical repairs, support and analysis.
- Trains lower-level technicians and assemblers in standard product test procedures, test/troubleshooting/rework techniques, and all job-related paperwork.
- Supports new product introduction efforts of Manufacturing and Engineering.
- The Technical Specialist Sr. monitors manufacturing data collection. Reports discrepancies and suggests improvements to Supervisors.
- Inspects products and sub-assemblies for workmanship and compliance to documentation
- Maintains and updates documentation for ISO9001, including work instructions. Identifies and proposes steps to prevent production problems, including new test screening procedures
- Provides recommendations to management for process improvements.
- Cleans work area(s) on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
