Overview:

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist is a registered nurse with advanced expertise and clinical experience, responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for nursing staff and healthcare teams. This role involves teaching advanced clinical skills, fostering professional development, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist also designs training materials, provides mentorship, and conducts in-service education sessions to enhance nursing knowledge and performance. This position requires advanced clinical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a deep commitment to enhancing nursing education and patient care.

Experience

  • 3 years of clinical RN (Registered Nurse) experience REQUIRED

Education

  • Master's Level Degree REQUIRED

License/Certification

  • A multistate compact of Virginia RN license in good standing REQUIRED
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) REQUIRED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) REQUIRED
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for Intermediate and Critical Care Units.
