As the Principal Scientist (Supervisor) in the Oligonucleotide Manufacturing Group, you will lead a team of 4-5 associates, overseeing their performance, training, and development. You will set production schedules, assign activities, and maintain labs in compliance with cGMP regulations.

Your responsibilities include supervising analytical testing and oligonucleotide manufacturing procedures, reviewing purification production operations, troubleshooting instrument problems, resolving production issues, and acting as the Subject Matter Expert for all related aspects. Additionally, you will perform various Quality System-related activities to ensure the highest standards are met.

The Opportunity
  • Designs experiments to test hypotheses related to project outcomes, analyzes and interprets data, and recommends new approaches or adjustments based on experimental data.

  • Leads project planning, production scheduling, process updates, and experimental design, ensuring timely completion of manufacturing deliverables and consistency with project critical paths.

  • Ensures technical activities comply with internal and external guidelines and regulations, and collaborates with other departments to further project goals.

  • Accurately records production methods, materials, and results. Analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions, and determines future manufacturing.

  • Presents findings or comprehensive project status reviews at internal seminars/meetings, applies advanced technical writing skills for reports, investigations, documents, and prepares summaries and presentations.

  • Serves as an expert resource to other departments, provides timely response and follow-ups, and may lead investigations of non-conformances and project teams to solve business problems.

  • Conceives, plans, and conducts independent production work or project work from inception through product launch and field support, defining schedules, and applying advanced scientific knowledge.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.

  • You have 6 years relevant industry experience.

Preferred

  • You have a Master's Degree or Ph.D.

  • You have 7 + years of relevant industry experience.

Are equivalencies acceptable?

  • Yes, equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Knowledge, Skill or Ability

  • Experience in assay optimization, experimental design, versatile laboratory practice, data analysis, and data and concept presentation.

Travel Requirements

  • 10% Based on business needs.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Branchburg, NJ is $87,500.00 -162,500.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
