Summary
The trainee/resident performs a variety of professional level functions to assist in providing optimum veterinary care to animals involved in research and learns the demands of managing the programs supporting biomedical research.

Essential Functions
-Care for a variety of animal species in a research setting.

-Participate in rounds with veterinary staff.

-Make presentations to the department and the broader laboratory animal medicine community.

-Assist with researcher and CCM staff training.

-Make recommendations for improvements to existing departmental methods and procedures and offer new ideas as part of the department's quality improvement effort.

-Participate in regulatory reviews.

-Maintain familiarity with research protocols.

-Assist researchers with protocol creation and review.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Medicine required

Experience
Previous Animal Care Experience 1-2 years preferred
