Sr Ultrasound Tech Amarillo 40664BR Position Description Produces two dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs by performing the following duties. Works under general supervision, functions independently within established guidelines and procedures. Work is performed under usual clinic and office conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Requires a high degree of contact with patients and physicians. Major/Essential Functions Prepare patient for ultrasound procedure. Review patient information and write specific diagnosis in chart or EMR. Adhere to department protocols according to specific exam performed and select proper equipment. Contact ordering physician and/or reading physician of any abnormalities. Complete fee sheet with procedure codes and correct diagnosis. Complete Ultrasound report for all scans performed. Assist physicians with any guided procedures; amnio, salines, amnioinfusion. Assist MFM with procedures at local hospitals. Operate imaging equipment to produce images and conduct preventative maintenance & inspection of equipment. Instructs all students and residents on ultrasound. Replace and discard intra cavity ultrasound probe Cidex solution monthly. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and rooms. Create permanent record of images and archive images to current PACS system. Prepaire AIUM recertification and with supporting documentation. Required Qualifications + Education:+ A minimum of an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from an approved Two-Year College or Technical School in a medical or related field. + License/Certification:+ RDMS registry in OB-GYN. + Experience:+ * At least two years of OB-GYN ultrasound experience. OR * Degree from certified ultrasound program of at least one year.
